A family operation.

Hi! We are Brendan and Elaine Martin and we are full-time farmers. We both grew up on small family farms and plan to continue that tradition. My husband, Brendan, grew up in Virginia and has always had a passion for livestock and farming. I grew up in the Midwest and met Brendan when our dreams of raising cattle collided. I was working at a cattle operation shortly after college and Brendan was on a veterinary internship in the same town. We worked cattle together and put out mineral and small talked like any two “co-workers” would do. The funny part of the story, is that what really sealed the deal was the day I invited him over for roast beef. Yes - roast beef is where our story begins and it’s where our story continues to grow and flourish today! My mom always said a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and I did just that! The rest is history and we now live together in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia raising beef cows, making hay, and running a large-animal veterinary clinic.

Brendan grew up on a family beef cattle and poultry farm in Virginia and attended Virginia Tech. He is a licensed large-animal veterinarian and brings incredible knowledge about the health and overall well-being of our cattle. Having a veterinarian on staff is a huge benefit to our operation!  Brendan started his own herd of beef cows during high school, kept building it throughout college, and turned it into the herd we have today.  Brendan has a great work ethic and determination to go for his dreams.  Brendan enjoys driving tractors and equipment on the farm, feeding cattle and watching them grow, and the satisfaction of a hard day of work.

Elaine grew up on a family farm in Missouri where her family raises row crops and beef cattle.  She attended the University of Missouri and has a B.S. in Animal Science.  Elaine has always loved beef cows and pursued an internship which turned into a full-time job at a large purebred Angus cattle operation in Kansas following college.  She brings great experience and a deep passion for farming to our operation.  Elaine enjoys calving season and watching the baby calves grow, making breeding decisions for the next year’s calf crop, and early morning sunrises on the farm.

We’re working on building our legacy for the next generation, one cow, one opportunity, and one dream at a time.
